Global BioAg Alliance (GBA) Charter of Principles and Code of Ethics

Inspired by Key Success Factors of GBA and GBL

As a member of the Global BioAg Alliance, we hereby commit to conducting our business and activities in accordance with this Charter of Principles and Code of Ethics:

  1. Support and Promote Sustainable Farming practices through BioAg Solutions
    Advance science-based biological and bio-input innovations that support sustainable farming, healthy soils, and resilient ecosystems globally.
  2. Support and Promote Scientific Integrity of BioAg solutions to Ensure Safety, Efficacy and Quality
    Educate industry to only those BioAg products and services that are safe, effective, and transparent in quality, labelling, and communication.
  3. Respect Regulatory Compliance
    Operate in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and international frameworks, embracing evolving guidance and best practices.
  4. Protect Environment and Public Health
    Commit to practices that minimize environmental impact and protect public health and safety.
  5. Uphold Scientific Integrity
    Base all claims, communications and practices on verifiable evidence and recognized scientific methods.
  6. Foster Ethical Conduct and Respect
    Treat all members, partners, regulators, and communities with honesty, respect, and fairness; maintain a safe, inclusive environment that values diversity of background, culture, gender, beliefs, and thought and is free of discriminatory, offensive, or foul language.
  7. Encourage Open Communication and Collaboration
    Promote transparent dialogue and partnerships to accelerate BioAg adoption and innovation.
  8. Support Intellectual Property and Fair Competition
    Respect intellectual property rights and promote sustainable, competitive market practices.
  9. Uphold International Protocols and Agreements
    Adhere to international agreements such as the FAO Code of Conduct and Nagoya Protocol, ensuring ethical and equitable BioAg development.
  10. Commit to Continuous Improvement and Responsibility
    Strive for ongoing enhancement of products, practices, and stakeholder engagement to benefit global agriculture and communities.

Code of Ethics:

All actions, portal posts, comments, and shared content must be respectful, relevant, and constructive.

Members must avoid sharing misinformation, unverified claims, or confidential information without proper authorization.

Professional conduct is expected at all times — refrain from political or personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory remarks.

Respect privacy and confidentiality; sensitive or proprietary information must not be disclosed without consent.

Encourage open, transparent dialogue while maintaining a professional and collaborative tone that fosters trust among all stakeholders.

By committing to this Charter, members earn the right to use the GBA logo, symbolizing their dedication to these shared principles. Violations of this Charter may result in review of membership status by the GBA Executive Committee.
